Beasley wins at Terang
TYLER Beasley finished on 41 points to win the A grade stableford event at Terang Golf Club last Saturday.
A field of 33 players took to the course on the day.
A grade runner-up was Caleb Kavanagh on 40 while B grade was won by Simon Mahoney on 36, from runner-up Toni Harrison on 35.
Down the line: Mark Couzens 37, David Stewart 36, Riley Scanlon 35 and Phil Ayres 34.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Riley Scanlon, 6th Peter Hrabar, 8th Tyler Beasley and 11th Phil Beasley.
Friday’s twilight golf was won by Caleb Kavanagh on 19 points from Mitch Wyss on 17.
Next Friday will be twilight nine-hole golf from 2.30pm onwards (composite course holes 1, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 10, 11 and 7).
Saturday will be stableford (final round Peter Kenna trophy) and Sunday will be an 18-hole stableford from 10.30am.
Good weather saw 30 players compete in this week’s stableford competitions.
The winner of the women’s event was Jane Heffernan with 40 points, followed by Margie Driscoll on 36.
Balls down the line went to Maureen Bond 34 points and Janet Saunders 33.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Janet Saunders, 11th and 18th from off the green Jane Heffernan.
The 18 hole all-day stableford event was won by Caleb Perry with 37 points, followed by runner-up Stephen O’Keeffe on 36.
Balls down the line went to Mick Scanlon 35, Michael Heffernan 35, Sharee Scanlon 34 and Terry Coolahan 32.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Stephen O’Keeffe, 6th Flynn Drake, 8th Michael Heffernan and 11th Phil Beasley.
Winner of the all-day nine hole stableford was Danny Kenna on 17 points on countback from Pat Bourke.
Next week will be 9.30am-10.30am women’s stableford and an all day 18 and nine hole stableford.
