At the club’s presentation night last Fridays Sinnott finished top of the vote count leaderboard, followed by team-mate Charlie Lucas.

Other senior awards were presented to Josh Place (most determined – Ray Russell Memorial Award), Harry Sumner (most improved), Luke O’Neil (coaches award) and Aiden Conheady (best first year player).

In the Open netball vote count, Piper Stephens capped off a successful year to take home the best and fairest award, followed by runner-up Annaliese Hughes.

Nell Mitchell received the coaches award.

One of several highlights of the evening was the awarding of life memberships to club stalwarts Troy Stephens, Stephen Sinnott and Emily Stephens.

Troy Stephens, who has a lifelong connection to the club, rose through the juniors and debuted in the senior ranks in 1996 under Gerard Fitzgerald and went on to play just over 200 senior games.

Post retirement, he has served on committees, volunteered with Auskick, worked match committees and coached.

Sinnott, a regular behind the bar on game days and a key figure in the club’s junior development, has held various club roles including Auskick coordinator, committee member, coach, umpire and football manager.

He made his senior playing debut in 1999 under Ken Hinkley and has best and fairest awards and club premierships to his name.

Emily Stephens’ career spans 258 games with the Magpies.

She has multiple grand final appearances and milestone games under her belt, has coached several teams and also umpired.

This year’s Lex Scally Memorial Award was presented to Caitlyn Fitzgerald; a dedicated player, coach, administrator, umpire and events organiser.

The Club Person of the Year award went to Jeremy Baker – a tireless volunteer for more than a decade.
