Parker captained the team, which was floundering at 5/40 before he and Tighe Warburton (Portland) added 134 for the sixth wicket.

Parker and Mack Mills (Warrnambool) combined for a further 96 runs in an unfinished seventh wicket partnership.

The Waves finished on 6/270 (Parker Walsh 90 not out, Tighe Warburton 71 and Mack Mills 41no) before dismissing Gippsland for 159.

Warburton claimed 3/19 and Parker 2/18 while Campbell took a catch and made a stumping in an exemplary wicketkeeping performance.

Cobden’s Leigh Walsh coached the team to its win.

Unfortunately, the Waves’ first match against South East Country was washed out, which will make it difficult to advance further in the competition.
