Concerns over limited parking
CORANGAMITE Shire Council has responded to concerns surrounding the location of a Breastscreen mobile van.

The van, which visits the area and provides access to breast screening close to home, is currently parked outside the Camperdown Library.
A resident posted on the Australian Disability Parking Wall of Shame Facebook page, raising a number of concerns from others regarding accessibility.
The concern stems from the van occupying the disabled parking bay outside the library and blocking the accessibility ramp.
Many, however, also noted the mobile screening trailer provides accessible entry points for those wishing to be screened.
Corangamite Shire Council manager environment and emergency Belinda Bennett said the van was parked on Manifold Street where it had access to power and the entrance can clear the awning outside adjoining shopfronts.
“The temporary space has an accessibility ramp at one end and a driveway at the other which provides an accessible gradient for people with mobility issues,” she said.
“The Breastscreen van is a regular visitor and council had issued a local laws permit to occupy for it to occupy multiple car parks until Wednesday, July 15.”
