Cooinda athletes shine at games
A GROUP of talented athletes from Cooinda Terang has brought home a swag of medals from the recent Tri State Games.

The three-day event, which was held in Portland last week and hosted by Kyeema Disability Service, attracted teams from across New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.
Athletes participated in a street parade, opening ceremony and indoor sports on Monday, aquatics events on Tuesday, followed by a day of track and field events on Thursday.
Events included golf putting, bean bag toss, swimming, pool noodle events, short distance runs, hoop throwing and table tennis.
Congratulations to the following Cooinda participants for their participation and success at the games - Zac Fryers, Jackie Parson, Rebecca Bradford, Zac Ludeman, Rowan Stevens, Ray Urban and Christine Wilson.
Some of the medals won include:
Golf putting – Christine (gold).
Pool events – Christine (gold in the pool walk), Zac (gold in noodle race and pool walk), Jackie (gold in swim walk) and Rebecca (gold for noodle and kickboard).
Bean bag throw and accuracy – Rowan and Jackie (gold medals) and Zac (gold in beanbag toss).
Walk events – Christine, Rowan and Jackie (gold).
The games are scheduled to be held in Mildura next year and many are already keen to participate once again.
