Course in top condition
WITH the Terang golf course in excellent condition thanks to the volunteers and course curator, 33 players competed in this week’s stableford events.
The winner of the women’s competition was Margie Driscoll with 34 points, followed by Jane Heffernan on 31.
Balls down the line went to Lynette Coxon 30 points on countback from Elaine Hrabar and Janet Saunders.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Margie Driscoll, 9th from off the green Elaine Hrabar and 11th Cate Glennon.
Winner of the 18 hole all day stableford was Caleb Kavanagh on 38 points, followed by George Beasley 36 on countback from Terry Beasley.
Balls down the line went to Terry Beasley 36, Sharee Scanlon 35, Fred Beasley 35, Mick Scanlon 33 on countback from Peter Hrabar.
Nearest the pins: 3rd, 6th and 8th Max Kavanagh and 11th George Beasley.
Winner of the nine hole all day stableford was Michael O’Connor with 16 points.
Congratulations to Cate Glennon for her excellent performance, finishing third in the silverspoon final at Gardeners Run, Lilydale.
Congratulations to Chris Coolahan for taking out the Peter Kenn Trophy, accumulating 30 points across the three rounds of competition.
Round three, played last Saturday, was won by Neale Grundy in A grade on 38 points followed by Trevor Beasley on 36.
B grade was won by Michelle Beasley (17) 39 on countback from Hugh Kenna (20) 39.
Balls down the line went to Gary Huebner (22) 38, Jo Arundel (24) 37, Geoff Nuske (17) 37 and Chris Coolahan (18) 37.
An eagle went to Martin Wynd on the par five, 10th hole.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Michelle Beasley, 6th Sam Heffernan and 11th Paddy Scanlon.
Friday’s twilight golf was won by Leo Beasley on 21 points, with Peter Taylor the runner-up on 16 points on countback.
Next week there will be twilight nine hole golf from 2.30pm Friday (composite course holes 1, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 10, 11 and 7).
Saturday will be the Frank Crimmins 4BBB (pairs event). Any players needing help to find a playing partner should contact Nik.
Sunday’s 18 hole stableford will start from 10.30am.
