Dispute results in assault charges
A GROVEDALE man has been charged following an altercation in Anderson Street, Skipton last Tuesday.
Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said police were called to a dispute between the alleged offender and another man in his 70s over dogs at around 1.20pm on Tuesday, May 13.
He said a number of witnesses to the incident assisted police with their inquiries.
“The man was pushed over by the neighbour and suffered an injury to his nose – he scraped his nose, from which he bled substantially,” Snr Sgt Caldow said.
“He had other injuries as well and he is still receiving treatment for those, but he has not been hospitalised.
“Police attended and took reports, and the following day arrested a 31-year-old Grovedale man.
“He was charged in relation to offences of recklessly cause injury and other assault-related offences.
“He was charged and bailed to not be within 200 metres of Anderson Street, Skipton, and he was charged and bailed to be in a Grovedale address in Geelong.”
The 31-year-old will appear at Geelong Magistrates Court on May 27 in relation to the incident.
