Fundraiser to assist family following crash
A GOFUNDME page has been set up by the family of those injured in an accident in Chocolyn to assist in funding their medical expenses and therapy.
The accident on Camperdown-Lismore Road on Saturday, September 21, left one driver dead and the family of seven injured after a head-on collision.
The family were travelling to see their mother and grandmother, who has since died.
The fundraiser, set up on Monday, has received more than $189,000 in donations from at least 843 individuals, families, businesses and community organisations as of Thursday morning.
A family spokesperson expressed their gratitude to the community for its donations, which had helped them surpass their original aim of $100,000.
“We have been overwhelmed by the generous and heartfelt support received from the community and we’d like to thank everyone who has reached out or donated,” the spokesperson said.
“It’s been incredible to know we have the support of so many as we grieve the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, known as Jen Jen to the grandchildren, and support our sister, her husband, and her young family through their recovery.”
