Get your photo with Santa
THE Guide Hall will be decked out with Christmas trimmings and festive scenery for a special photo session later this month.
The Camperdown Girl Guides will be hosting a special Christmas Photo Booth at the Guide Hall (251 Manifold Street) on Saturday, November 29 as a fundraiser for the guides.
Co-organiser Kylie Spokes said locals can book 10-minute sessions with Jesse Photography, who is donating her time for the sessions.
“There will be sessions between 10am and 2pm available,” she said.
“It’s for families, with their pet included if they’d like, or just the kids.
“There are also two different Christmas settings the photos will be taken against, and people have a choice of a photo to take home straight away or digital images.
“We’re keeping it very affordable – it’s very reasonably priced and saves people a trip to the big shopping centres to have a photo with Santa.
“While we don’t have a real-life Santa for these photos, we have an alternative and we’ve got a lot of festive items to make the photo seasonal.”
Mrs Spokes said the idea was sparked by the Christmas in Camperdown event over previous years, where families had the opportunity to have a photo with Santa on the street without having to travel long distances or spend a lot.
“We thought, leading on from that, it would be an opportunity to offer a service for people locally who are looking to get some photos done of their family to share with their loved ones and relatives for Christmas in an affordable way that doesn’t take up a lot of time,” she said.
“In doing so, they can also support a community group.
“We have had a few bookings, but we are looking for more.
“There are lots of times available, and it’s a good opportunity – it doesn’t have to just be young children and families.
“It can be older people just wanting a couple photo or it can be just individual photos.”
