Heavy rain blasts the region

COBDEN experienced its highest monthly rain result in almost four years through out June thanks to a cold front rolling in which delivered more than a month of rain in just five days.

A total of 164.2mm of rain fell over Cobden throughout June thanks to six separate 24-hour periods seeing rain gauges reach double-digit figures.

Throughout June Cobden received its largest rainfall tally since October 2022, when 204.8mm of rain fell over the region.

The highest daily rainfall experienced was on June 4, when 33.4mm of rain hit the ground.

The first week of June, spanning from the Monday 1 to Friday 5, saw an incredible 96mm of rain hit the ground.

The result marks an increase on the year prior, with 131.8mm recorded in June 2026.

The result brings the total rainfall experienced over Cobden through the first six months of 2026 to 336.2mm, slightly below the long-term average over the same period of 358.9mm.
