Line upgrades to cause delays

PASSENGERS using the Geelong and Warrnambool lines over the next two weeks should allow extra time for their journey as V/Line track maintenance and upgrades take place in several locations.

By wd-news

Coaches will replace trains on the Warrnambool Line between Warrnambool and Southern Cross from this week through to Sunday, April 13.

Passengers are asked to allow up to 40 minutes extra for the journey by coach, and to plan ahead using the temporary coach timetables available on the V/Line website.

During this time, crews will carry out track works in the Geelong tunnel between South Geelong and Geelong stations, landscaping and signal works between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds, level crossing upgrades at Lara and Little River, upgrades to the Warrnambool stabling facility, annual track maintenance, and vegetation removal works between Colac and Warrnambool.

The initial Warrnambool stabling works will enable all Warrnambool Line services to run as modern VLocity trains following a timetable change which will also introduce a fifth weekend return service from the week commencing Monday, April 14.

Passengers are encouraged to visit ptv.vic.gov.au/disruptions for more information and to plan their journey.

Real-time traffic conditions are available at traffic.transport.vic.gov.au. The latest public transport information and network status is available at ptv.vic.gov.au or in the PTV mobile app.
