Be careful: Police are reminding drivers to take care on Mount Leura after a motor home hit an embankment last Thursday.

Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said police were called to the incident in the afternoon of Thursday, May 15, finding the motor home stuck on the embankment as it was descending Mount Leura.

“The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was not injured,” he said.

“The road was blocked while we waited for heavy haulage to take the motor home away.

“The road was blocked for about two hours, and (Corangamite Shire) council assisted with road closed signage.

“The vehicle was substantially damaged, but no people were injured.

“There won’t be any charges in relation to this.”

Snr Sgt Caldow advised drivers to take drive slowly and cautiously along Mount Leura Road as the road is known for its bends and curves.
