New addition supports land care expansion
WARRNAMBOOL Coastcare Landcare Network has expanded its service area through the appointment of Nicole Wood as a new team member and Landcare Facilitator.
She joins Warrnambool and District Landcare facilitator Geoff Rollinson working in the Warrnambool and Moyne municipalities.
“Nicole brings many years of experience in community engagement and a background in natural resource management to the network,” chair Bruce Campbell said.
“Nicole is working with us three days a week, and will be able to grow our land care impact in the region with her skills and enthusiasm.”
The appointment of a second landcare facilitator by the network was made possible through the Victorian Landcare program, administered by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).
The appointment will create more resources for the network to undertake core activities such as tree planting, running events, workshops and field days, and encouraging farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural practices.
