Fonterra’s Mainland Group in Australia was officially taken over by Lactalis earlier this year, prompting new branding of the factory in Cobden.

“We’re proud of our history in Cobden and to be part of the Cobden community,” Lactalis-Mainland Dairy managing director David Breckenridge said.

“We are also excited about our future as Lactalis-Mainland Dairy, with a continued commitment to supporting local jobs, suppliers and partnerships.

“Our Cobden site remains locally managed and customers and consumers will continue to experience the same great products – including much-loved brands like Western Star – made by the same people, with high standards of quality and service.

“We are looking forward to updating our signage on site very soon to reflect that we are now Lactalis.

“Now that we are integrated into Lactalis, our focus is on long-term growth as the world’s largest dairy company.”
