Perfect timing

PERFORMANCE on the Warrnambool Line continued the positive trends of 2025 with a perfect reliability score through October.

The Warrnambool Line recorded 100 per cent reliability in October, with all 310 scheduled services running, exceeding the 96 per cent monthly reliability target for the 12th consecutive month.

The line was one of the best performing on the V/Line network for punctuality in October, with 95.8 per cent of services arriving at their destination on time – exceeding the 92 per cent monthly punctuality target.

A V/Line spokesperson said the result was the eighth consecutive month, and ninth time in 2025, the Warrnambool Line has reached both the punctuality and reliability monthly targets.

“All scheduled trains ran on the Warrnambool Line in October, again making it one of the best performing lines on the network, exceeding reliability and punctuality targets for the eighth consecutive month,” the spokesperson said.

“The introduction of VLocity trains 12 months ago has given Warrnambool Line passengers more reliable journeys and with five return services running every day, passengers have more travel options than ever before.”

October was a busy month on the Warrnambool Line, with more than 54,000 trips taken by passengers to attend major events in Melbourne or visit family and friends.

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and make a reservation in advance by booking online, at a staffed V/Line or premium Metro station, by calling 1800 800 007 or by visiting a retail ticket agent.
