Last Sunday saw the start of the championships, which are played over three consecutive weekends at Warrnambool’s City Memorial Bowls Club.

The mens’ 4s, ladies’ 4s and ladies singles were played, with the Corangamite playing area scooping the pool and winning all three championships.

This will see the teams advance to the state championships, which will be played at Bendigo in April.

Camperdown Giants had three representatives playing in composite sides.

Luke Wright played with Winchelsea, while Vicki Brebner and Marian Van Someren combined with Colac City’s Kathy Leslie and Camperdown Golf’s Leanne Fitzgerald.

Rebecca McMahon from Colac City also won the ladies’ singles.

Next Sunday will see the regional pairs championships contested.

The Giants will be represented by Vicki Brebner and Maria Van Someren.
