Report shows busy year
CORANGAMITE Shire Council has looked back on a year of success after 52 of 60 actions were completed from the Annual Action Plan.
Councillors voted to receive the Annual Action Plan report at this week’s Ordinary Meeting of Council, with a majority of the actions marked as completed as at June 30 this year.
Five of these actions remain in progress, with one unfunded due to budgetary limitations and two deferred due to financial constraints.
Actions completed included working with Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Victoria University, Deakin University and Wannon Water to pursue funding for Camperdown Production Precinct, advocating for improved mobile connectivity in Skipton, Port Campbell and Noorat and expanding the Unlocking Housing Program to include Camperdown and Skipton.
Councillor Ruth Gstrein said she was pleased with the progress made throughout the year.
“I think it was a fairly ambitious plan that we set at the beginning of last year, with 60 actions listed,” she said.
“I’d like to thank our staff who have worked tirelessly to get us to this position.
“It’s a great effort and there are some really good projects that have been delivered.”
While many of the completed actions include implementing projects and programs, seeking funding and upgrading facilities, actions focused on advocacy will remain ongoing.
