Round one awaits Demons
REIGNING Mininera Football League senior premiers Lismore/Derrinallum kick off their title defence tomorrow with a home game at the Derrinallum Recreation Reserve against Moyston/Willaura.
The Demons will also be out to defend their reserves premiership title after the club claimed both premierships in an historic first in 2025.
Lismore/Derrinallum will again be led by coaches Wayne Walsh and Alec Wiltshire, with the other co-coach of 2025 in Angus Grant stepping back to just playing duties.
The Demons have managed to re-sign nearly all of their 2025 playing list which should hold them in good stead for further finals action in 2026.
Athletic defender Harry Bufton returns to the Demons line-up after a season away at the Goondiwindi Hawks, while half back Isaiah Harrington joins from Colac and District FNL team Alvie where he took out the reserves best and fairest while also appearing in the seniors for their premiership winning team.
Steph Smith, who won the Mininera netball league best and fairest in 2014, returns to the Demons after a decade away to coach the A and B grade netball teams.
Sarah Kelly and Ebony McLoughlin will coach the under 18 netballers, Clare Ralph is in charge of the 15 and under team, with the 13 and under netballers led by Bella Hovey.
