Second win for Swans
CARAMUT’S senior footballers won their second game of the season on Saturday, defeating Wickliffe/Lake Bolac 10.9.69 to 8.11.59 at the Caramut Recreation Reserve.
“It was a very good win for the club and players, a full four quarter effort,” a happy Swans coach Scott Judd said.
“We got challenged early in the third quarter and responded well with three quick goals.”
Ruckman Jarvis Bermingham and full back Ryan O’Connor were best for the Swans, with Judd praising their games.
“Jarvis handled the ruck work for the majority of the game and was fantastic all over the ground,” he said.
“Ryan took plenty of marks down back and steadied the ship for us.”
The Caramut mentor was pleased with how his troops ran out the game.
“Our fitness work from the pre-season is really starting to show,” Judd said.
Consistent forward Damien Wynd led the goal kickers with a game high five goals.
“Damien presents well and gives us a great target to kick the ball up to,” Judd said.
A big game awaits the Swans this week, a road trip to face the undefeated Ararat Eagles.
“It’s a massive challenge but one we are looking forward to, we want to keep testing ourselves,” Judd said.
Wickliffe/Lake Bolac was far too strong in the reserves, winning 13.14.92 to Caramut’s no score.
Hartley Russell, Michael Payne and Bailey Moloney the best for the Swans.
Caramut had a big win in the under 16.5 game, 18.12.120 to no score.
Angus Rowe kicked seven goals in abest onground performance, with Finneaus Dennis and Taj O'Brien also in the best for the junior Swans.
In the A grade netball, Caramut had a 33-30 win.
Best for Caramut were Charlotte Delaney and Emilie Tonissen, with Tonissen shooting 18 goals and Maddi Calvert 15.
Caramut had a thumping 57-11 win in the B grade netball.
Chloe Anderson was best for the Swans, scoring 31 goals, with junior player Yolie O’Sullivan shooting 26.
Caramut also had a good win in the C grade game, 45-6.
Edie Douglas was named best on court, Rachel Hassett leading the scorers with 37 goals.
Kate Parker was best on court in Caramut’s 32-20 win in the 15 and under game, with Yolie O’Sullivan shooting 26 goals.
In the 13 and under game, Caramut had a big win, 34-7.
Grace O'Sullivan was best for the junior Swans, while Ruby Russell scored 13 goals.
