Social pennant finals continue
OVER 60s social pennant golfers recently competed in semi-finals at Mortlake.
Mortlake White lost to Camperdown 35-36.
M. Heard def Tom Hose 21-15 and K. Johnson lost to P. Brener 14-21.
Mortlake Blue lost to Terang 33-43.
P. Delaney lost to N. Uebergang 11-23 and F. Robertson def N. Wynd 22-20.
Unfortunately for Mortlake Blue and White, they are now out of finals contention.
Next week’s final will be played between Camperdown and Terang at the Mortlake Bowls Club.
Action will start at 11am with a lunch break half-way through. Spectators are most welcome.
In the men’s pairs semi-finals, Dave McNicoll and Dwayne Dolling lost to Darren Grant and Colin Goldsworthy over the weekend.
Well done to Justin Rasmussen and Nigel Boydon, and Darren Grant and Colin Goldsworthy for making the men’s pairs final.
The finals action will start at 9.30am this Sunday – spectators will no doubt be treated to a cracking final.
In the ladies’ pairs, J. Grant and V. Smith defeated R. Pasque and W. McDonald.
G. Kenna and S. Richie defeated G. MacDonald and D. Robertson.
Well done to J. Grant, V. Smith, G. Kenna and S. Richie for making the women’s pairs final – the date is yet to be announced so keep an eye on the club’s socials for details.
A reminder to all players that there will be a private function at the bowls club, including the green, this Sunday afternoon so it will not be available for member or public use.

Friday, February 27 – Mortlake ladies will host a ladies’ fours tournament ($80 per team with morning and afternoon tea provided, BYO lunch).
