Sophie continues to shine
TERANG College year four student Sophie Simpson continues to shine in the sporting arena this year.

To date, Sophie has had an impressive year, representing the college in cross-country, swimming and athletics at district, division, regional and soon-to-be at state level.
On Tuesday of last week (May 26) Sophie competed at the Greater Western Region Cross Country at Albert Park in Warrnambool where she finished a creditable 10th in a field of 51 runners.
This qualified her for the SSV State Cross Country Championships which will be held at Bundoora on Thursday, July 16.
Earlier in the year Sophie also competed at the Greater Western Region swimming championships in Horsham.
There she finished third in breaststroke.
She has also qualified for the GWR athletics meet in term four where she will compete in the 200m sprint, 800m run and the 80m hurdles.
As primary students are only allowed to compete in two events at regionals, Sophie will now need to decide which two events to compete in.
“Our college is enormously proud of Sophie’s achievements so far this year,” a school spokesperson said.
“She has shown great sportsmanship along with determination and resilience.”
