TERANG Mortlake’s last remaining side has been eliminated from premiership contention following last Saturday’s Hampden league preliminary finals.
The Bloods’ 13 and under netballers went down to Koroit 33-28 in near perfect conditions at Friendly Societies Park.
Scores were tied at both the first change and three quarter time in what proved to be a tight contest, before the Saints pulled clear in a free flowing final term.
With the game on the line, it was Koroit who rose to the occasion, winning the fourth quarter 12-7 to seal the result.
Goal attack Alice Suhan (19 goals) was a standout for Terang Mortlake, well supported by centre Ava Grundy and defender Leah Dickson.
Despite finishing the season as minor premiers, the Bloods were knocked out of the flag race following two consecutive finals losses, as Koroit advanced to the grand final where they are set to take on South Warrnambool.
