After a first-round forfeit due to lack of numbers, the Lions made their competition debut at Camperdown Showgrounds, taking on Forest Rangers Light Green.

It proved to be an encouraging first outing, with the team fighting hard for a convincing 4-2 victory.

Wilbur Reid was named Player of the Game for his solid efforts on the pitch on the day.

The following week brought a road trip to Sebastopol, where the Lions faced Sebastopol Vikings A in what turned out to be a tight contest.

The team showed real resilience to come away with a 1-1 draw, with Emmett Gladman earning Player of the Game honours for a standout performance in goals and defence.

Round four brought the Lions back to Camperdown Showgrounds, and they made the most of their home advantage with a dominant 4-0 victory over Sebastopol Vikings B.

Ruby Baker was the deserved Player of the Game showing her skills in defence, capping off a strong match for the side.

With all players finding their footing and growing in confidence with each match, the Lions head into round five in fine form.

They travel to Buninyong to face Buninyong Black this weekend, where the squad will be hoping to carry their early-season momentum deep into opposition territory.
