Tech students quick on the track

COBDEN Technical School students have shown their skills at the recent Greater Western Regional Track and Field Athletics bringing home some strong results.

The students battled windy, wintery conditions at the Ballarat venue on Thursday, October 9 but some outstanding results were recorded.

Ryan Bailey- second in the under 13 boys’ javelin with a throw of 22.70m.

Xander Weel – 10th in the under 15 boys’ 1500m race in a time of 5.19.50.

Harry Roberts – under 14 boys 100m 5th (12.95m), under 14 boys’ discus (25.45m) 3rd, under 14 boys’ 200m (27.432m) 5th and under 14 boys’ long jump (4.80m) 6th – and rebroke his school record.

Rhys Sargood – under 15 boys’ 100m (11.98) 2nd, under 15 boys’ 200m (24.92) 1st.

Chloe Marquez – under 13 girls’ discus (12.56m) 5th.

Riley Beames – under 16 boys’ 800m (2.14.34) 1st and 1500m (5.03.84) 6th.

Alanna Warden – under 15 girls’ discuss (21.32m) 2nd.

Congratulations to Rhys Sargood (200m under 15 male) and Riley Beames (800m under 16 male) who qualified to compete in the School Sport Victoria State Track and Field in Melbourne last Monday.
