Terang Racecourse was abuzz with excitement as the community was out in force for a day of country racing action.

Terang and District Racing Club president Shane Scally said he was pleased to see strong attendance for the event again this year.

“The crowd was very good,” he said.

“Considering it was a Sunday, and the weather was very conducive for people coming out, I think that side of things was very good.”

There was no shortage of fashions on the field again this year, with Sharon Wilson named Lady of the Day and Damian Lenehan named Gent of the Day.

“That was well patronised, and people dressed up very nicely for the day,” Mr Scally said.

The day could not have been a success without the ongoing support of members of the community and volunteers including the Terang Returned and Services League sub-branch, Terang Progress Association, Cooinda Terang, Terang Lions Club and the Terang Probus Club.

Mr Scally thanked all those whose efforts did not go unnoticed.

“It’s always good to have their support, and I think they enjoyed the day too,” he said.
