Tigers struggle at home
IT was a rough day for Woorndoo’s cricketers in round six of the Colac-South West premier cricket competition, copping a 295 run loss to Heytesbury-Princetown.
The Storm won the toss and elected to bat first at the Woorndoo Recreation Reserve, thumping 1/378 from their 50 overs, with captain Matthew Love making 186 not out.
Greg Parry took the sole wicket for the Tigers, with Tyler Schafer bowling 10 overs for 45 as the most economical bowler - all other Woorndoo bowlers going for more than six an over.
Schafer worked hard for 32 from 44 balls in Woorndoo’s reply, but only two other players made double figures as the hosts were bowled out in the final over for just 83.
Woorndoo face another stern test this week when they travel to play Colac at CMTP Oval.
In division three, Woorndoo was forced to forfeit its scheduled game against Pomborneit Gold at South Purrumbete due to player unavailability.
This week the division three Tigers are due to host Camperdown at Woorndoo.
