TOPS welcomes new volunteers
TIMBOON op shop (TOPS) has welcomed some new volunteers who are helping to keep the valued store running for the Timboon community.

Julie Harkin and Nellie Cashmore are among the new volunteers who have joined TOPS.
Mrs Harkin, who’s been there for a month now, said she’s been enjoying her time so far.
“I was inspired by all the people I’m working with to come and join the op shop,” she said.
“I used to work at the hospital and then I retired from working and all the girls who work here at the op shop mostly worked at the hospital so I joined the club.
“It’s been fun – great fun.
“They’re good people to work with, even though they get grumpy sometimes, it’s really fun.
“I sort out clothes and books and anything that’s worth keeping, we shift things around.”
Mrs Harkin encouraged members of the community to get behind volunteering.
“To anyone hesitant to volunteer, come and join the club – it’s great,” se he said
“There’re great people to work with.
“I’ve volunteered with footy clubs and netball clubs before and still volunteer with the cricket club in Cobden.”
Fellow TOPS volunteer Enid O’Connor said it was great to have the new volunteers on board to expand the ever-growing TOPS family.
“We’re mostly women and we all have our own kitchens so we’re used to doing things our own way,” she said.
“The beauty of the op shop is we all come together and work together.”
