Rieley crossed the finish line first last week and is now training hard for the upcoming Starlight Tour de Kids virtual cycling challenge.

The junior group was educated on their bike set up, saddle height and reach before the race.

The race consisted of eight riders who gave their all on the circuit.

The winner of the race was the increasingly strong Rieley who has been training hard for the last month for the Starlight Tour de Kids virtual cycling challenge.

Rieley’s target is $1000 to go towards sick kids.

Rieley set a winning time of 11.59. Second over the line was Lawson with a time of 12.10 and the third rider for the night was Nathaniel with a time of 10.48.

Other recorded times were Finny, 13.59 (PB of nearly one minute), Henry 13.01, Ava 11.16, Archie 16.33 PB, and Josh fastest time for the night of 09.45.

The club has a Come and Try night for junior and senior riders on October 30 and all interested riders can text the club on 0407 335 546 for more information.

The weather was also challenging for the second senior bike race of the season at Camperdown.

Thea Vogels rode off limit with a five-minute gap back to Zane Vogels.

Matt Clark and Matt G chased another minute behind, followed by a bunch including Josh Thompson, Oliver Clark and Finn Baxter.

Sean Thompson and Todd Baxter rode off scratch three minutes later.

It was a tough race due to the strong headwinds, but (except for one puncture) all riders got across the line with a good time.

Finn, Josh and Oliver caught Zane and the two Matt’s near Podger’s corner about two thirds of the way around.

The group passed Thea and stayed together to Pasque’s Corner, where Finn slipped away and managed to stay in front to claim first place.

The scratch bunch crept up to the other riders at the last straight, with Matt G staying away in second place, and Sean Thompson in third.

Josh Thompson crossed the line in fourth and the brutal Zane Vogels came fifth.
