Tough day for Tigers
IT was a one-sided senior football encounter for Simpson on Saturday, with the Tigers belted by 105 points by Colac Imperials at the Western Reserve.
The home team dominated all day in the round six Colac and District match to record a 24.12.156 to 8.3.51 victory.
The Tigers had no answer for the Scott brothers, with Campbell Scott kicking six goals and coach Bailey Scott four, the pair named as best for the Imperials.
Cody Mason was best for the Tigers and was the team’s only multiple goal kicker with two.
Jarrod Garth, Brenton DeJong, Locjie Hawkins, Tanner Fratantaro, Isaac Holland and Brodie Neale kicked one goal each.
After Mason, Lochie Hawkins, Darcy Leishman, Gus Hawkes, Jayden Gass and Sam Rial were also in Simpson’s best.
The reserves match saw Imperials score a 15.8.98 to 4.3.27 win.
Darcy Thorburn, Nick Duynhoven and Jono Jennings were Simpson’s best, with Jennings kicking three goals and Ashley Royal one.
The under 15 football saw Imperials win 8.7.55 to 1.7.13.
Ben Vogels, Jyda Randle and Lucas Woolstencroft were best for Simpson, with Vogels kicking the only goal.
Imperials won the under football by 19 points, 6.9.45 to 4.2.26.
Jack Vogels kicked two goals for Simpson, with Kaiden Teal and Miles Capizzi one each.
The A grade netball saw reigning premiers Colac Imperials defeat Simpson 61-41.
Carol Arndell, Amy Pemberton and Shelby Cameron were the Tigers best in the loss, with Eliza Duynhoven scoring 26 goals and Cameron 15.
The B grade game saw a 39-32 win for Imperials.
Georgia Arndell, Sophie Cronin and Claudia Richardson were best for Simpson, with Arndell and Jessie Harding shooting 16 goals each.
Colac Imperials took out the C grade game with a 41-39 win.
Kayla Hallyburton, Isabelle Robertson and Rachael Duynhoven were best for Simpson, with Duynhoven scoring 24 goals and Hallyburton 15.
In D grade, the Imperials had a 36-20 win.
Kaylee Jansen, Keisha McVilly and Kellie Meade were best for the Tigers, with Brianna Ferrari shooting 13 goals.
Simpson scored a 48-37 win in the 17 and under netball.
Esha Crole, Kustom Robertson and Courtney Blain were best for the Tigers in the win, with Crole shooting 27 goals and Robertson 21.
Simpson also got the points in the 15 and under netball with a 31-27 win.
River Rothery, Keisha McVilly and Kate Parker were best for the Tigers, with McVilly scoring 16 goals and Rothery 15.
The 13 and under netball saw Imperials register a 40-16 win.
Alexis Barake, Lotus Rothery and Ayla Crole were best for the junior Tigers, with Nyah Ford and Peyton Robertson scoring eight goals each.
This Saturday Simpson's teams will play Lorne at the Simpson Recreation Reserve.
