VIS award for Penny

TALENTED local shooter Penny Smith has received yet another accolade to add to her long list of achievements.

Smith was recently named the recipient of the Victorian Institute of Sport’s 2025 ‘Coaches Award’ for the shooting program.

This award recognises an athlete’s performance both on and off the field of play, as well as their commitment to team values, sporting culture and VIS values.

Following her bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Penny delivered an exceptional series of performances throughout September 2024 to October this year; the award eligibility window.

Her achievements in trap competition included national, Commonwealth and state titles, along with three gold medals and one silver on the international circuit across both individual and team events.
