AT its general meeting on May 5, 2025, Progressing Cobden received the resignation of Kelvin White from the role of secretary.

Progressing Cobden minutes secretary Kathryn Stubbings said in the interim she will be taking on the secretary role.

“For more than 17 years as secretary, Kelvin White has been a constant and committed leader within Progressing Cobden,” she said.

“His contributions have supported the development of key initiatives such as the Cobden Twenty20 Vision, Grand Tourism Plan, and Cobden Business Network, alongside strong advocacy with Corangamite Shire Council and the creation of the Cobden Story Trail.

“Kelvin also edited the Connecting Cobden newsletters (2011–2017), and played a hands-on role in organising volunteer recognition dinners, the Spring Festival, and Christmas events in Apex Park and Curdie Street, often coordinating community prizes and sponsorships.

“In addition to his service with Progressing Cobden, Kelvin has made long-standing contributions as an educator, sports administrator, and volunteer across numerous local and regional roles – efforts recognised with the Citizen of the Year award from Corangamite Shire and a Paul Harris Fellow from the Rotary Club of Cobden.

“Although stepping down from the secretary position, Kelvin remains an active and valued general member of Progressing Cobden.”
