Women perform for Waves

THREE south west women have performed well as part of the Western Waves side that competed at the recent VCCL Country Women’s Championship.

Ecklin Cricket Club’s Rachel O’Keffe, Bookaar’s Audrey Ringe and Cobden’s Ingrid Bellman each took to the crease with the Waves

The Western Waves won both of their games at the championship to finish runners-up on the day.

In game one, the Waves defeated South East Sharks 3/114 to 3/109.

Ringe was effective with the ball with figures of 0/13.

In game two, the Waves defeated Malle Murray 3/97 to 5/95.

Bellman was unbeaten on seven runs, while O’Keffe finished five not out.

Ringe once again restricted the opposition’s run rate, taking 0/15.
